Orthodontics for kids
We can assess if your child needs orthodontic treatment as soon as they have any adult teeth, usually at the age of 8. We provide early interceptive treatment even while there is a mix of baby and adult teeth, getting in to resolve an orthodontic problem so that it doesn't get worse. Commonly used interceptive appliances include plates, expanders and partial braces.
Comprehensive orthodontic treatment refers to treatment that is done once all the adult teeth are through, usually when a child is around 12 or 13 years old. This is when we use appliances such as braces or Invisalign.
